Tiny Hope Wallace Obituary (1928 - 2018)

Tiny Hope Wallace, 89, passed away on Tuesday, February 27, 2018 at her home in Buchanan. Tiny was born September 8, 1928 in Jackson, TN to Oleda Mae (Gardner) and Charles Isaac McCaslin. She met her husband, James Burl Wallace, in the cotton fields of Arkansas at a young age and married him on October 10, 1947 in Blytheville, AR. They moved to Buchanan, MI in 1949, and she spent the rest of her life there. Tiny and Burl were married for 44 years before he passed away with lung cancer on March 31, 2005. Tiny is survived by her son, James Burl Jr. of AZ; daughters, Linda Blevins and Pam (Brian) Daley both of Buchanan, MI; grandchildren, Hope Maegin (Gabriel) Walker, Aubrey (Tim) Hockemyer, Joshua (Tia) Blevins, Laura Blevins, Sean Wallace; great-grandchildren, Tyler and Cody Blevins, Roman Walker, Wyatt, Anneliese, Caleb, and Marshall Blevins, Amilia Coalmon, and Eliot Hockemyer; as well as a special brother-in-law, Thomas "Tom" of Exeter, CA; and many nieces and nephews. Tiny will be greatly missed by her son and two daughters, along with her 5 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren whom she always enjoyed. Tiny was a member of Faith United Methodist Church of Buchanan, for over 50 years, joining after moving to Buchanan from Arkansas. She liked to needlepoint, do counted cross stitch and other hobbies. Tiny loved to work outside in her yard, planting flowers in her gardens. In addition to her husband, Tiny was preceded in death by her parents, Oleda and Charlie; brothers, Andrew "Buddy", Glen, Gordon "Mac", Gerald, and Wilber; sisters, Margie Grimes and Peggy Sue Timmons. Visitation for Tiny will be from 6 to 8 pm on Monday, March 5, 2018 at Hoven Funeral Home and one hour prior to the service on Tuesday. Funeral service will be at Noon on Tuesday, March 6, 2018 at Hoven Funeral Home, Inc., with Pastor Edward Slate of Faith United Methodist Church, officiating.
