Sonia N. Kelly Obituary (1938

Sonia N. Kelly, 78, of Buchanan passed away on Monday, September 5th, 2016 at St. Joseph Regional Medical Center, Mishawaka, IN. Sonia was born on July 7, 1938 to the late Clayten and Rosabelle Spaulding in Buchanan, MI. She graduated from Buchanan High School in the class of 1956. On January 4, 1958 she married Harry Kelly at a ceremony at Evangelical United Brethren Church in Buchanan. Sonia was an active member at Faith United Methodist Church. She worked several years at I&M (AEP) in Buchanan before retiring in 1996. Sonia enjoyed crocheting, traveling, flower gardens and she would make her own cards for others. She was a very loving, caring, open hearted woman who put God, her family and her church family above herself. Sonia is survived by her husband of 58 years, Harry; son, Brian (MaryHelen) Kelly; daughter, Brenda (Brian) Harbaugh; grandchildren, Meghan Kelly, Brittany Applegate, Dylan Harbaugh and McKenna Harbaugh; great grandchild, Alexis Suggs; brothers, Clinten (June) Spaulding, Nolan (Virginia) Spaulding and Melvern (Sandy) Spaulding and sister, Shirley (James) Benham. She is preceded in death by her parents, Clayten and Rosabelle and infant son, Bruce Kelly. Funeral services for Sonia will be held at 11 am on Friday, September 9, 2016 at Faith United Methodist Church, Buchanan with Pastor Ed Slate officiating. Burial will follow at Oak Ridge Cemetery, Buchanan. Visitation will be held from 6-8 pm on Thursday, September 8, 2016 at Hoven Funeral Home, Buchanan and one hour prior to the service Friday from 10-11 am.
