Shawna Ray Freehling Obituary (1963

Shawna Ray Freehling, 58, of Niles, MI, passed away on Thursday, December 9, 2021 at Lakeland Medical Center in St. Joseph, MI. She was born February 26, 1963 in Niles, MI to the late Frances and Dana Barlett. Shawna graduated from Buchanan High School with the class of 1981. On December 22, 1994, Shawna married George Freehling in Niles, MI. Shawna was a crafty person. She enjoyed crocheting, cooking, and to dance while she cleaned. Most of all, she loved her grandkids, children, and even her fur grandkids. Shawna is survived by her husband, George; daughters, Kellee (Arthur Carlyle) Metz, Mishell (Jason) Pierce; son, Philip (Kathi Hebert) Metz; sister, Kristina Barlett; grandchildren, Dartanian Pierce, Jaden Carlyle, Wesley Pierce, and Aralynn Pierce. She is preceded in death by her parents, Frances and Dana; sister, Cynthia Galaske; and grandson, Jorden Carlyle. Family will honor Shawna's wishes, visitation for Shawna and Jorden will be held from 4 - 6 pm on Wednesday, December 22, 2021 at Hoven Funeral Home, Buchanan. Funeral service will begin at 6 pm.
