Reatha Joan Base Obituary (1930 - 2022)

Reatha Joan Base, 92 of Bremen, IN, went home to Jesus Thursday morning December 8, 2022. She was born December 7, 1930 to Gordon and Florence Carpenter and one of ten children. She married the love of her life, Marvin M. Base in October 1948 who passed away in June 2000. Reatha's life revolved around her family and made many sacrifices for her six children. She always encouraged them to do their best and prayed for them diligently. When her children's friends came over, she would treat them like her children. She enjoyed trips to Michigan and camping with her family. Reatha is survived by her four children, Steve (Dee) Base of Osceola, Hope (Rick) Ort of Goshen, Gary (Deb) Base of Cromwell, Rick (Marilyn) Base of Bremen; sister, Shirley Mackin of Niles; and several grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great great grandchildren. Proceeded in death by her parents, her husband, two sons, Mark Base, Eric Base; seven brothers, one sister, and grandson, Jason. Memorial services to be held by the family at a later date.
