Kaye P. Smithley Obituary (1940 - 2015)

Kaye P. Smithley (Shimer), born 1940 passed away unexpectedly, Thursday, October 29th, 2015. She was a loving wife, sister, mother, aunt, grandmother, and great grandmother. She was preceded in death by her husband, Roy; and her parents, Earl and Ruth Shimer. She is survived by her sons, Jeff (Kelly), Wayne (Kay); brother, Chip (Gwen); sister, Joan; sister-in-law, Janie and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. Kaye followed her calling to the Lord her entire life and was a devout Christian. She was an active member of the Midway Baptist Church. As a military wife, Kaye saw many places in her life spending the majority of her years in Alaska. She and Roy returned to Michigan in 1998 after they retired and spent many years enjoying family and friends. She will be missed by all who loved her. Her memorial service held by the family will take place at 11 am on Friday, November 13th, 2015 at Midway Baptist Church, Watervliet, MI. Arrangements have been entrusted to Hoven Funeral Home, Buchanan, MI.
