Katie Mae Shepherd Obituary (1938

Katie Mae Shepherd, 77, of Galien, passed away at 7 am on Monday, February 29, 2016 surrounded by her family at home. Katie was born on April 5, 1938 in West Virginia. On October 17, 1970 she married Curtis Ray Shepherd at a ceremony in Michigan City, IN. Katie retired from Pilkington in 2008. She was an active member at First Apostolic Church in Bridgman and considered the congregation to be her extended family. Katie enjoyed working at the River Valley Senior Center the last five years. She also enjoyed quilting and cooking for family and friends. She is survived by her children, Gregory (Kelly) Shepherd, Sherri (Dennis Williams, Sr.) Wynn, Tammy (Rev. Derrick) Payne and Raymond (Kimberly) Shepherd; grandchildren, Terry Taylor, Jr., Jessie Shields, Crystal Shields, Carrie Shields, Josh Bowen, Angel Fuller, Caitlin (Jason) Smith, Dylan Shepherd, Amanda Wynn, Michael Wynn, Devin Keller, Tyler Payne, Rachel Payne, Trevor Shepherd, Amber Shepherd and Caleb Shepherd; several great-grandchildren and brothers, Charles Taylor, Tim (Cindy) Taylor and Jeff (Brenda) Taylor. Katie was preceded in death by her husband, Curtis Ray Shepherd; parents, Donald and Kerma Jahn; son, Terry Taylor; brother, David Taylor and sister Dottie Lawson. Funeral services for Katie will be held at 11 am on Saturday, March 5, 2016 at First Apostolic Church, Bridgman, MI with Rev. David Coban, Sr. officiating. Burial will follow at Forest Lawn Cemetery, Three Oaks, MI. Visitation will be held from 6pm - 8pm on Friday, March 4, 2016 also at First Apostolic Church, Bridgman, MI.
