Jeffery "Mike" Bartos Obituary (1947 - 2021)

Jeffery "Mike" Bartos, 73, of Three Oaks, Michigan and Okeechobee, Florida, passed away on Friday June 4th, 2021 at home surrounded by his family. Mike was born on September 18th, 1947 to George and Ruthe (Wiedenhoft) Bartos in Michigan City, IN. Mike graduated from New Buffalo High School in 1966 just days prior to hiring at Bethlehem Steel where he worked crazy hours for 36 years in hot steelmaking as a Senior Runout Tech before his retirement in 2002. On April 16th, 1966, he married the love of his life Kathie Georgenia (Roberts) in New Buffalo, Michigan and made an amazing life story over their 50 years. Mike and Georgenia were a team that built a wonderful life together raising their children & grandchildren and, in retirement, building a home they so enjoyed and cared for. Mike loved his motorcycles and traveling. Mike shared his passion for "out West" motorcycle trips with friends and family, many of whom traveled with he and Georgenia on some of their many adventures all around the United States. Although not a military service man himself, Make had great respect for those who served and traveled multiple times with the Wall Gang to Rolling Thunder in Washington DC visiting veteran home and honoring those who served along the way. Mike and Georgenia had 2 children, Jeffery "Mike" (Stephanie) Bartos II and Paula (Brian) Wilkey both of Three Oaks, Michigan. Grandchildren, Katie (Shannon) Bernardon, Krista (Jacob) Stark, Kyle and Nathan Bartos; step grandchildren, Zach and Noah Colpitts; great-grandchildren, Lauren and Colten Willis, Harper Bernardon, Lillian and Ellie Stark; step great-grandchildren, Maddie and Derrick Bernardon; siblings, Gerald (Mary) Bartos, Sandra (Harold) Rozinski, Sharlene (Russell) Holm, Georgenia (Herschel) Poteet, Rhea (Mithcell) Shrum, Reginia (Paul) Zubrys. Mike was preceded in death by his wife, Georgenia, his parents, George and Ruthe; step-father, Ralp 'Dick' Rench; and his brother, Gerald 'Jerry'. A memorial service will be held by the family at Real Life Community Church, 12 E. Michigan Street in Three Oaks, Michigan on Friday, June 11th, 2021 at 3 pm Eastern Time. Visitation with the family with take place 2 hours prior to the service from 1 -3 pm with Pastor Rich Zeiger officiating.
