Gerald "Jerry" R. York Obituary (1943

Gerald "Jerry" R. York, 71 of Niles, passed away on Wednesday, December 17, 2014 at his home in Niles. Jerry was born June 7, 1943 to Edsel and Velda York in Niles, MI. He was a U.S. Army Veteran and worked as a carpenter. On January 11, 1974 he married Barbara York at a ceremony in Niles. Jerry was an avid volunteer at the Niles Haunted House Scream Park for 24 years. He is survived by his children, Rodney York and Hope Flint both of Niles; siblings, David (Laura) York, Keith (Helen) York, Ken (Tressa) York, JoAnne (Raymond) LaRocco, Scott (Kathy) York and Brian York and grandchildren, Sam and Andrew Craw and Jason York. Jerry is preceded in death by his parents, wife, Barbara York, and son Russell "Bill" York. A memorial celebration will be held by the family at a later date. Arrangements have been entrusted to Hoven Funeral Home, Buchanan. Memorial contributions may be made to the Niles Haunted House Scream Park.
