Mr. Floyd "Tank" Kelly Obituary (1939

Mr. Floyd "Tank" Kelly, 78, of Buchanan, passed away on Thursday, August 10, 2017 at Three Rivers Health. He was born March 10, 1939 in Pulaski, IL to the union of the late Coleman and Laura (Sylvester) Kelly. Floyd served in the U.S. Marines from 1956 until honorably discharged in 1958. On April 25, 1963, Floyd married Hattie M. James at a ceremony in Niles, MI. Floyd was employed by General Motors for over 20 years; after retiring from General Motors he started a lawn service business for 10 years. He took great pride when he was promoted to "Paw-Paw" by his grandchildren and great grandchildren. Floyd is survived by his wife of 54 years, Hattie M. Kelly; children, Lynn (Lewis) Kelly Price, Neva (Rodney) Gadson, Valerie Kelly Brown, Floyd (Lisa) Kelly Jr, Sherry Kelly, Celeri Jones; god-daughters, Tonja Wade-Farrow, Demetria Kelly; brothers, E.W. Kelly, Melvin Kelly, Andrew Kelly; sisters, Ophie D. Bledsoe, Lillian Fowler, Vernice Jefferson; grandchildren, Kisha N. Phillips, Matthew C. Kelly, Jordan C. Kelly, Brittany N. Gadson, Mercedes N. Kelly, Taulise J. Brown; great-grandchildren, Elijah Kelly, Jada Taylor, Aries Kelly, Arron Gadson, Kartier Watford, Jabari Smith; host of nieces, nephews, cousins, friends, and neighbors. Visitaion for Floyd will be at 11 am on Saturday, August 19, 2017 at Mt. Calvary Missionary Baptist Church, 601 Ferry St., Niles, MI 49120. Funeral service will follow starting at Noon.
