Dorothy Berneice Siekman Obituary (1932 - 2011)

Dorothy Berneice Siekman, 79, of Buchanan, died at 5:05 a.m. Monday, Dec. 19, 2011, at Silverbrook Manor, Niles, of natural causes. She was born April 16, 1932, in Niles. She was a lifetime area resident. Dorothy was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Buchanan. She worked at South Bend Control. Dorothy married Howard Siekman on Jan. 26, 1951. He preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by her parents and a son, Howard Joseph Siekman. She is survived by a daughter, Christine (Thomas) Krassow, of Buchanan; brother, Norman Nichols, of Niles; sister, Phyllis Ballard, of Niles; one grandchild; two great-grandchildren; five step-grandchildren; and two step-great-grandchildren. Services will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 22, at Hoven Funeral Home in Buchanan. Burial will be at Oak Ridge Cemetery in Buchanan. Friends may call from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the donor's choice.
