Donovan Xavier Smith, 17, transitioned July 23, 2017. He was born May 16, 2000 in Ypsilanti, MI, the loving son of Roy P. Smith of Ypsilanti, MI and Tara Ware Smith-Broadie of Perkasie, PA. He attended Pennridge High School in Perkasie, PA, where he was a Distinguished Honor Roll student and proud member of the Concert Choir. Donovan is survived by his parents; his brothers Myles and Nicholas; grandparents Jo-Sarah Ware Vaughn of Romulus, MI, T.H. (JoAnn) Holton of Benton Harbor, MI, Nancy Smith of Belzoni, MS; God-Grandparents Eva Gorman and the late Johnny Gorman of Berrien Springs, MI; several uncles, aunts, cousins, and many loving family and friends. Funeral services will be held at Union Memorial AME Church in Benton Harbor, MI on Tuesday, August 1, 2017 with family hour at 10 a.m. and service at 11 a.m. Burial will follow in Crystal Springs Cemetery. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to John E. Gibson Funeral Home of Willow Grove, PA and Hoven Funeral Home of Buchanan, MI.
