Dell R. Wiggins Obituary (1937

Dell R. Wiggins, 80, of Buchanan, passed away on Tuesday, May 29, 2018, at St. Joseph Regional Medical Center in Mishawaka, IN. He was born on June 26, 1937 to the late Robert and Ruth (Sager) Wiggins in Mishawaka, IN. Dell has been a farmer since his feet reached the pedals of the tractor. First farming with his parents on the 444 acre farm in New Carlisle, IN, where the I/N Tec and I/N Kote plants now stand. With his father, Robert, and son, Timothy Dell's help, they raised peas and lima beans for Gerber Baby Food and the Waldorf Astoria. On September 30, 1961, Dell married Eileen Seese. Together they purchased a home and farm in Buchanan, MI. Dell also worked for the Indiana Toll Road. The last ten years in supervision. Dell retired from the Indiana Toll Road after 30 years of service. He served in the U.S. Army and attended Suburban Gardens Church of Christ. Dell served in the Sunday school, was a Superintendent and a Deacon at the church. Later attending Fairland Christian Church. He served as a Deacon there as well. Several church basements were dug by Dell. He loved using his "digger" and sealed many deals with a handshake and his word. Dell is survived by his wife Eileen; son, Timothy (Stacy) Dell; daughter, Carla (Chris) Wiggins Ayers; sisters, Linda Smith, RuthAnn (Tom) Schantz ; grandchildren, Jennifer "Jenny Hen" (Robie) Scoggin, Robert (Leanna) Wiggins, Brenson (Janessa Bandoszewski) Lowery, Jason Lowery, Dakota Windom, Rebecca Windom, Jacob "Pappas little buddy" Ayers; step-grandchildren, Michael (Courtney) Williams, Brandy (John) Ralston; great-grandchildren, Madisyn Scoggin, R.J. Scoggin, Austin Wiggins, Logan Wiggins, Vivian Lowery; Step-great-grandchildren, Josaphine Williams, Makayla Williams, Michael Williams II, Matthew Williams, Dahmain Bandoszewski, Nicole Ralston, Andrew Ayers and Emerald Ayers. Funeral service for Dell will be held at 10 am on Saturday, June 2, 2018 at Fairland Christian Church, Niles, MI. Visitation will be from 2-4 and 6-8 on Friday, June 1, 2018 at Hoven Funeral Home, Buchanan, MI. Burial will follow the service at St. Joseph Valley Memorial Park, Mishawaka, IN.
