Cornelius "Neal" John Rot Obituary (1929 - 2013)

Cornelius "Neal" John Rot, 84, formerly of Matteson, IL, passed away Monday, October 28, 2013, at Northwest Community Hospital, Arlington Heights, IL. Neal was born June 5, 1929, to Ebel and Gertrude Rot, in Oak Lawn, IL. He was co-owner of Bedford Woodworking in Burbank, IL. On October 7, 1950, Neal married Margaret V. Claus, in Chicago, IL. He spent 60 years in Chicago, and lived the last 20 years in Bethany Beach, Sawyer, MI. Neal is survived by his wife, and children: Valerie (Carlton) Lewis of Albuquerque, New Mexico; Janet (Dale) Nelson of Sawyer, MI; James (Cheryl) Rot of Verona, MI; and grandchildren: Karyn, Andy, Anne, Byron, Peter, Lindsey, Ashley, and Austin; great grandchildren: Steven, Paul, and Raelyn. A memorial service will be held by the family on Saturday, November 23, 2013, at 1:00 p.m. at Sawyer Highlands Church, 13100 Red Arrow Hwy, Sawyer, MI 49125. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Sawyer Highlands Church in memory of Neal Rot.
