Clifford Thompson, Jr., 60, of 104 1/2 Fulton St., Buchanan, died at 1:57 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 1, 2011 at Lakeland Community Hospital in Niles of natural causes. He was born July 28, 1951 in Niles. He was a lifetime resident of Buchanan. Clifford ran production at Modineer Co. in Niles. He was a member of Bethel Apostolic Tabernacle in Buchanan. Clifford married Wanda Patricia Murphy Thompson on May 25, 1970 in Niles. He is survived by his wife, Wanda; sons, Troy Long of Boston and Ahmad Thompson of Niles; stepson, Terry Perry of Bridgman; daughters, Gwendarla Thompson of South Bend, Tia Perry of Buchanan, Ruthie Thompson of Buchanan, Shanda Murphy of Niles and Mary Moten of Buchanan; brothers, Richard Wade of Niles, Dexter Wade of Niles and Mitchel Thompson of Buchanan; a sister, Ruth Mayo of Buchanan; and 11 grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Clifford Thompson Sr. and Ruth Margarat Calvin, one brother and three sisters. Services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 6 at Bethel Apostolic Tabernacle in Buchanan with Bishop Alfred Deeds of the church officiating. Burial will be at Oak Ridge Cemetery in Buchanan. Friends may call from 10 to 11 a.m. Thursday at the church.
