Clara Deloris Hatter-Hartman Obituary (1935 - 2017)

Clara Deloris Hatter-Hartman, 82, of Buchanan, MI, passed away while surrounded by family and friends on Saturday, September 2, 2107 at 2:00 pm. She was born on May 14, 1935 to the late Melvin and Zora Hatter in Fountain Bluff, IL. On June 10, 1955 Clara married William Hartman. In 1954 she graduated from Niles High School. Clara was Miss Niles in 1953. She worked at Simplicity Pattern Company, Sexton Real Estate, and retired after 17 years from Edward Lowe as a Human Resource Manager. From 1955-1957 Clara lived at Camp Pendelton, CA. She then resided in Buchanan until she passed away. Clara was a member of the American Legion, Eastern Star and Women of the Moose-Senior Regent. Clara is survived by her husband of 62 years, William; sons, Michael (Vickie) Hartman, Rick (Shelley) Hartman; daughter, Vicki (James) Bullock; grandsons, Joe Hartman, William Skalla, Blake Dowsett; granddaughters, Jillian Swope, Rachel Skalla, Lauren Skalla; great-grandson, Vincent James Skalla; great-granddaughter, Taryn Hartman; sister, Effie Hoffman of Florida and many nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents, Melvin and Zora; brothers, Isham Hatter, George Hatter; sisters, Lilly Hatter Baugh and Freida Hatter Beare. Cremation has taken place. There will be a Celebration of Life for Clara at a later date with internment at Oak Ridge Cemetery, Buchanan.
